Today more and more young people choose to enter university after they have completed the study in high schools rather than to begin to work or become an apprentice. I will try to examine below the reasons for entering university that I consider as the most common.
First, with the knowledge learned at a university, we will better understand our society. A systematic study in a university enables us to realize how the society works and we learn how deal with life problems. Knowledge is a powerful tool and possessing it can diminish a lot of our problems.
Second, universities prepare students for the career they have picked because developing a career is a very important stage in our life. As a result of the accomplishment of a four- or six-year study, it is not difficult to find a good job in most cases. So, a university education helps us to find a decent job.
Third, a university is a place where people with different backgrounds get opportunities to interact with each other. Information about different cultures, different life styles and certain types of food is shared among students. All these things are very interesting and make contribution to personal development.
A university is the place where dreams can be fulfilled. A university education fortifies our values, enhance our skills, and broaden our horizons. Due to the knowledge learned at a university, we can get a better understanding of the society, find a decent job and meet interesting people.
