Computer is a device for processing information. Computer has no intelligence by itself and is called hardware. A computer system is a combination of four elements:
Hardware; Software; Procedures; Data / Information
Software are the programs that tell the hardware how to perform a task. Without software instructions, the hardware doesn’t know what to do.
The basic job of the computer is the processing of information. Computers take information in the form of instructions called programs and symbols called data. After that they perform various mathematical and logical operations, and then give the results (information). Computer is used to convert data into information.
Computer helps me a lot in my everyday studies.
Computer’s word program is used by me to prepare different written documents: reports, letters etc.
I also work with such programs as spreadsheets, graphics, paint, power point, photo shop and so on; but most of all I prefer surf the Internet. The latest information is available to you at any hour you need it. Here I can find amount of information not only for my studies, but for entertainment as well. The Net provides me with different types of information: e-books, encyclopedias, pictures, films, music…Finding information is not the only service of the Internet, I use it for playing games, communicating and making new friends, joining chat groups, on-line shopping.
Of course the Internet has its disadvantages: so much information exhausts you sometimes, finding information can take you hours; downloading may be slow and boring, “chat friends” are not the same than real people. By way of conclusion I can say that computer and the Internet has both good and bad points, but the system is improving all the time and any problems which still exist can be solved. So only we have to make the best possible use of it.
